You claim the false accusation on the media and the way they dig into it is with a purpose of influencing the judicial system. I think in some cases this might be true... but I think more than that media editors care about their rating and about their popularity.
They know that the average person, and definitely the average Israeli loves gossip about people, and mostly about celebrities. And they know that the warse the gossip is the bigger the audience becomes.
Check out a recent CNN commercial: "the difference between telling the fact and a good story is...". They, like all Israeli media, understand that people want spice more than just facts. They want the story to grow and develop. So you need a good editor... meaning you need to change the story and add some fiction to keep your viewers/readers tuned in.
My point is, they are complete assholes. They take advantage of people's hunger to juicy details, and they fuel it with false information. They never care about the life of the people effected.
They only care about their own greed.
It's the same for human-beings and the same for politics and other stuff.
Nobody verifies the truthfullness of stories before publishing them.

I share your pain for the loss of this great man.
